Service Forester

The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking a full-time Service Forester to join its Urban and Community Forestry team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate tree health and provide management recommendations.
- Offer technical assistance to communities, landowners, and partner organizations.
- Coordinate and support urban forestry grant programs.
- Assist with community tree inventories and forestry projects.
- Plan and lead tree care workshops and educational events.
- Respond to tree health concerns, including insect and disease issues.
- Help communities establish and maintain forestry programs.
- Review and approve shelterbelt tree planting plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Arborist

The City of West Fargo is seeking a full-time Arborist to help maintain and care for the city's urban forest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trim, prune, plant, and remove trees on city property.
- Inspect trees for insects, diseases, and safety concerns.
- Operate forestry equipment, including aerial lifts, chainsaws, and chippers.
- Assist with tree planting and maintenance projects.
- Respond to public questions and concerns about city trees.
- Help train seasonal employees and assist with snow removal as needed.
